I began my artistic journey in 2012 after a successful career in Computer Science. I’ve always considered myself an artsy person, dabbling in jewelry design, tote bag making as well as selling my many creations, however, I had a stigma that painting was for others but not for me until I attended a watercolor class and fell in love with the medium! This led to experimenting with other mediums such as oil, acrylic, colored pencil and pastel. Each holds its own fascination and rewards yet watercolor and color pencil have become my medium of choice! I find the difference yet likeness mesmerizing. I strive for realism in my paintings yet also try to introduce looseness as well. My journey has brought me boundless joy and acute awareness of my surroundings. Everything I see I want to paint and I imagine the strokes and the pigment mixtures to obtain the desired results. Life is truly a song with art as its center.
I am a self-taught artist but have been influenced by the instruction of Betty Glass, Liz Hutchinson-Sperry, Zoe Hale, Don Melander, and Chris Volpe. The amalgamation of their techniques has influenced my own style. Florals are subjects I enjoy painting the most but I also find immense pleasure and accomplishment in pet and house portraiture painting. I gladly accept commissions!
